Happy Birthday Kira Anne!

Today Kira would have turned 10 years old, but her life was cut short on December 9, 2006 when she and her mother, Heather were murdered and their home set on fire. Their killer is still at large and free. They will never be forgotten and live on forever in our hearts, but this Earth is not the same without them in it. "Always Be My Baby" Heather loved Mariah Carey.

Unsolved Cases

This was on the front page of the Gainesville Sun today. It caught my attention as I was driving out of the McDonald's Drive Thru after getting a happy meal for my son. I remember hte last time Heather and I went to McDonald's with the girls. We had picked up Kira from Gymnastics at the YMCA and swung through McDonald's before heading to Sesame Street Live. My son was just a baby then he is almost 4 now. I can't believe they have been gone from this earth for so long and miss them so much every day.

But more important than all that, their case is STILL UNSOLVED! So if anyone has any information no matter how little you think it may be, please come forward. You can even reply to this blog anonymously. Someone has to know something!! This is a true injustice to them and their family and loved ones. Detectives are still working every day, but as time goes on memories fade. I pray that this case will be solved in my lifetime. Unfortunately it was not in her dad's.

Happy Birthday Heather

So, today, January 12 was Heather's Birthday. She would have been 32! It is still hard to accept that she is gone. Today I found myself in her driveway. As I sat there in the stillness the wind blew so softly as if to tell me that she was there. I miss her so much! There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her!!

So, even though you are not here on this Earth with us right now it is your Birthday today. So, Happy Birthday Heather: I love you and miss you terribly!!!
